Description
Self-regulating heaters are modern heating elements based on PTC thermistor technology. Their main advantage is the ability to automatically adjust power depending on operating conditions. The better the heat transfer from the heater's surface, the higher the power the heating element achieves. In situations of limited heat transfer, the heater automatically reduces energy consumption, operating at minimal power.
They are most commonly used in tanks and trays for evaporating condensate in refrigeration devices. The maximum power of the heater is achieved in water at a temperature close to 0°C. As the temperature of the medium increases, the power gradually decreases – at around 90–100°C, it drops to 80–90% of the maximum power, which corresponds to the nominal power. After the condensate has evaporated and while operating in air, the energy consumption is only about 10% of the maximum power. Due to the smooth change in resistance, these values are indicative but perfectly reflect the operation of the element.
The installation of the heater does not require interference with the structure of the tank – the device is designed to be freely placed at the bottom. Specially designed hexagonal heads effectively prevent the element from shifting and insulate the bottom of the tank from the heating part, ensuring stable and safe operation. Heaters with metal heads are suitable for both metal and plastic tanks. Upon request, it is possible to manufacture heads entirely from metal.
Heater sheath material: heat-resistant steel Incoloy – ensuring exceptional resistance to high temperatures, corrosion, and a long service life even in demanding operating conditions.
